AVID GRADES

Hello - - Looking for some feedback. I have a 3rd year AVID student (Junior), who unfortunately has fallen below the 2.0 benchmark according to her school. Yet when I calculate her GPA it comes up to a 2.0. The problem lies in that I am informed that her AVID class is combined with her History grade to come up with 1 average. Now my next questions was,,,,is the History class that she is in modified from the "other" history classes......her AVID grade is reported separately on her report card and transcript yet she is not receiving the benefit of taking this extra class or elective? Is this right?
Please help!
